Alain Orbiz was born in Cuba and graduated from the internationally renowned Conservatory Amadeo Roldan in Havana Cuba. He was a member of the Opera Orchestra in Havana and won twice the first place of the annual Cello Competition.
During his career on the island, he accompanied celebrated vocalist Liuba Maria Hevia as well as other well-known Cuban artists. He has also collaborated with numerous groups and ensembles in Spain where he became a member at the Seville String chamber Music Orchestra for two years and the USA.
Alain currently teaches classical cello at the Miami Conservatory of Music and established in 2008 his own String Trio, The Bridge String Trio, a new concept that plays with the elements of the old times and those of today, to connect different styles, philosophies, traditions, cultures, lives, people, and sounds. He also accompanies many celebrated artists such as Cachao, Ricardo Arjona and Christian Castro.
